摘要: Aim: A cross-sectional radiographic orthopantomogram (OPG)survey was done to determine the prevalence of apicalperiodontitis (AP) in root canaltreated teeth a selectedpopulation, and evaluate influence coronalrestorations (CR) canal fillings on periapical status.Materials methods: total 250 OPGs were evaluatedout which treatment (RCT) had been performed in438 taken as sample size.Statistical analysis used: Chi-square test, odds ratio andp-values recorded. Results: The results showed that 53.1% endodonticallytreated presented with AP radiographically. Incidence ofAP among acceptable RCT (32.3%) significantlylower than those suffering from unacceptable (92.7%).Moreover, adequate CR demonstrated significantly betterperiapical status (83.2%) compared inadequateCR (37.2%). Also, combination andadequate filling resulted reduced incidenceof (21.6%) presence (97%) whenboth parameters scored inadequate. Conclusion: Results hence well-performedRCT well-sealing are both essential for overallsuccess endodontic treatment. Therefore, considerableimprovement quality general dentalpractice is required promote oral/periapical health.
