摘要: Autophagy is an evolutionarily ancient process of intracellular catabolism necessary to preserve cellular homeostasis in response a wide variety stresses. In the case post-mitotic cells, where cell replacement not option, finely tuned quality control cytoplasmic constituents and organelles especially critical. And due ubiquitous critical role autophagic flux maintenance health, it comes as little surprise that perturbation observed multiple disease processes. A large body preclinical evidence suggests autophagy double-edged sword cardiovascular disease, acting either beneficial or maladaptive ways, depending on context. light this, machinery cardiomyocytes other types has been proposed potential therapeutic target. Here, we summarize current knowledge regarding dual functions disease. We go analyze recent suggesting titration holds novel treatment strategy.
