摘要: Francisella tularensis is a zoonotic intracellular pathogen and the causative agent of debilitating febrile illness tularemia. Although natural infections by F. are sporadic generally localized, low infectious dose, with ability to be transmitted humans via multiple routes potential cause life-threatening infections, has led concerns that this bacterium could used as an bioterror released intentionally into environment. Recent studies other closely related species have greatly increased our understanding mechanisms organism infect disease within host. Here, we review life cycle highlight key genetic determinants and/or pathways contribute survival proliferation host cells.
