摘要: This chapter presents methods to study the structure and function of membrane proteins that are integrated in lipid bilayer. Regular arrays solubilized native or heterologously expressed reconstituted presence lipids, assessed by electron crystallography atomic force microscopy. Native, densely packed membranes mainly studied microscopy, as this method provides sufficient signal-to-noise ratio resolution visualize submolecular details single molecules. Reconstituted amenable molecule spectroscopy for determining inter- intra-molecular interactions. Examples including aquaporins, bacteriorhodopsin, porin OmpF, rhodopsin discussed.
