摘要: An outbreak of infections due to Enterobacter cloacae occurred in the burn center at Medical College Virginia (Richmond, Virginia) 1976. Fifteen patients had bacteremia E. cloacae; 10 cases during a six-week period January and February. The development was significantly related extent third-degree admission February but not presence an intravenous cannula, underlying disease, or antimicrobial therapy. spread by contaminated hands personnel cross-contamination hydrotherapy water. A shortage staff appeared be important factor occurrence outbreak. Control measures included increase number personnel, instruction proper aseptic technique, adoption new protocol.
