摘要: The performance of individual neurons in monkey striate cortex has been examined three spatial-resolution tasks by making microelectrode recordings from single cells anaesthetized, paralyzed animals. statistical reliability responses was used to estimate threshold levels performance. For each task (resolution acuity for high-contrast gratings, discrimination gratings varying spatial frequency, and localization ability, i.e., phase), approaching psychophysical thresholds obtained cortical cells. receptive-field organization underlying detail the use a linear model that relates ability sensitivity receptive field luminance contrast. Calculations this agree well with direct measurements are comparable hyperacuity. Though it suggested nonoriented fields layer ivcβ may be responsible recovering fine-grain information, our calculations indicate these poorer at than many other cortex.
