Public participation in municipal solid waste source-separated collection in Guilin, China: status and influencing factors

摘要: Currently, China is facing critical problems regarding the management of municipal solid waste (MSW). The failure existing pilot programs in implementing MSW source-separated collection highlights need to analyze factors significantly influencing public participation this activity. To end, a comprehensive analysis Guilin, which representative wider areas located inland and with GDP around national average, was conducted. research consisted in-person interviews involving questionnaire theoretical analyses terms perception, awareness, attitude, willingness pay. analytical results identify status implementation, provides exercisable suggestions for decision makers both more generally industrializing countries design promotion education campaigns.
