摘要: The distribution and quantitation of the iron-binding proteins rat small intestinal mucosa was studied, in iron-deficient replete animals, to explore their role absorption iron. Adsorption (mucosal uptake) iron situ ligated loops found be uniform throughout length intestine whereas (carcass showed a steep decreasing gradient from duodenum ileum. disrupted, vivo labeled mucosal cells were fractionated by isopycnic centrifugation transferrin ferritin quantitated radioimmunoassay. Transferrin derived shown have higher affinity for antibody than serum. Of present extract, only portion could accounted contamination serum; proteolysis resistant intrinsic may cell specific. similar amounts all regions intestine, not affected loading but doubled response deficiency. Mucosal greater iron-absorbing areas increased iron-loaded decreased animals. incorporation newly absorbed radioiron into absorbing completely inhibited colchicine cytochalasin-B, suggesting that loaded with at point process is associated vesicle movement simple diffusion. ferritin-specific immunoabsorption also gel filtration established no other soluble binding involved absorption.
