摘要: A new pentasetacine mite Loboquintus subsquamatusn. gen. & n. sp. was found living under scale-like leaves of 2–3 years old twigs Cupressus sempervirens in Montenegro. This species possesses a number morphological features (uncommon teardrop-shaped body, traits prosoma, atypical primitive anatomy the genital apparatus and immatures) which clearly distinguish it from all other known eriophyoids. Adults L. subsquamatus have seta vi situated on anterior margin uniquely elongate lingua-like thin frontal lobe, three pits posterior prodorsal shield margin, remarkable tube-like structure basal part gnathosoma, complicated three-layered epigynium, spermathecae directed antero-laterad, short spermathecal tubes setae eu suppressed males possibly expressed females. External genitalia females are fundamentally similar. Hypothesized remnants coxisterna III or IV (forming postgenital plate) remarkably distinct males. Two morphometrical variables proposed to supplement CLSM protocol for description internal eriophyoids by Chetverikov et al. (Zootaxa 3560:41–60, 2012b): (a) length ventral projection transvers apodeme (b) (=postspermathecal) longitudinal bridge is long, whereas many reduced.
