摘要: Abstract Geohydraulic parameters are essential elements in groundwater resource management and conservation. Most of these especially the hydraulic conductivity transmissivity usually estimated from pumping test carried out on drilled boreholes. This paper presents a study conducted Abi area Ikom-Mamfe Embayment with objective estimating aquifer 30 evenly distributed vertical electrical soundings using Schlumberger configuration hydrogeologic measurements 28 boreholes within as an alternative way generating initial data for characterisation quality assessment area. The results showed low resistivity ⩽45 Ωm, ⩽2.0 × 10−5 m/s (⩽1.7 m/day) ⩽5.2 × 10−4 m2/s (⩽45 m2/day) water-bearing horizons northeastern northwestern parts due to nature system that were predominantly fractured shale. sand based aquifers had higher values neighbourhood ∼100–800 Ωm, ∼4.0 × 10−5–1.0 × 10−4 m/s (∼3.46–9.04 m/day) ∼6.94 × 10−4–3.81 × 10−3 m2/s (∼60–330 m2/day) respective mentioned above. potability observed water samples most relatively poor, having total dissolved solids ∼250–931.0 μS/cm ∼500–623.77 mg/l respectively influence clay minerals horizon. Some sounding points taken vicinity tests lithologic available adequate comparison results.
