摘要: Many different experiments are being developed to explore the existence of neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ) since it would imply fundamental consequences for particle physics. In this work we present results on evaluation Timepix detectors with cadmium-telluride sensor material search 0νββ in 116Cd. This was carried out COBRA collaboration and Medipix collaboration. Due relatively small pixel dimension 110×110×1000 μm3 energy deposited by particles typically extends over several detector pixels leading a track matrix. We investigated separation power regarding event-types like α-particles, atmospheric muons, single electrons electron-positron pairs produced at vertex. achieved excellent classification α-particles muons. addition, good between electron pair production events. These abilities indicate very background reduction search. Further, order distinguish 2νββ 0νββ, resolution is particular importance. simulations which demonstrate that an 0.43 % achievable Q-value 116Cd 2.814 MeV. measured 1.6 % nominal 1589 keV tracks about two times worse predicted our simulations. deviation probably due problem calibration energies above 122 discussed paper as well.
