摘要: The aim of the study was to factors related anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation among HIV-seropositive heterosexuals soon after being tested for their HIV status first time. Anxiety, were assessed 51 heterosexual men women with various stages infection. All assessments done between 4 6 weeks revelation positive serostatus. Psychosocial variables such as quality family relationships substance use sociodemographic details gender, income, education, residence studied association psychiatric morbidity. Illness morbidity included stage infection, spouse's status, presence physical illness, pain. Depression present in 40% anxiety 36% sample. Serious intent seen 14%. Multiple regression analysis indicated that pain, concurrent alcohol abuse, poor relations, AIDS spouse significant associated ideation.
