摘要: Garcia-Barrera, Kamphaus, and Bandalos (2011) derived a 25-item executive functioning screener from the Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC), measuring 4 latent constructs: problem solving, attentional control, behavioral emotional control. The current study included cross-cultural examination of this in Colombian children with without attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). BASC teacher ratings were collected ages 6-11 years (848 healthy [53% boys] 155 ADHD [76% boys]). To examine psychometric properties screener, multistep procedure was implemented, including (a) confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) factorial invariance testing across gender, age group (6-8 years, 9-11 years), status to replicate extend original derivation; (b) item response theory (IRT) evaluate information provided by individual items; (c) given IRT results, repeated CFA after exclusion 1 problem-solving factor. 24-item 4-factor model fit adequate controls participants. Results support use context. In turn, supplemental material, normative data sample are reported along bilingual guidelines (i.e., Spanish/English) implementing clinical practice. Even though is useful when examining functions, it not designed as diagnostic measure developmental disorders such ADHD; such, should only inform about functioning.
