摘要: A case of subcutaneous facial emphysema secondary to use the Cavi-Jet air polishing system is reported. Air pressure may exceed that other dental instruments such as air/water syringe or turbine handpiece. Inadvertent angulation nozzle tip into a severe periodontal pocket precipitated this condition, which resolved with no serious sequelae. No treatment than prophylactic antibiotics was prescribed.
