摘要: While the culturing of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and induced pluripotent (iPSCs) with mouse fibroblasts (MEFs) or foreskin may be adequate for research purposes, it is less suitable clinical industrial use due to risk exposure animal pathogens variations between batches MEFs fetal bovine serum (FBS). To establish reproducible defined cultures, devoid products, feeder layers ­animal products need replaced. This chapter describes layer-free culture ­systems that have been developed specifically iPSCs.
