MOISTURE, PORE SPACE, AND BULK DENSITY CHANGES IN FROZEN SOIL

摘要: In the upper 15 inches of 2 frozen loam soils, one bare and under alfalfa, moisture contents usually exceeded prefreeze field maximum. Total pore space was always above that before freezing; bulk density predominantly less lowest expected density. Moisture changes in soils are attributed solely to internal movement.
