摘要: The isotopic mixing method was employed to study the thermal desorption of CO molecules produced from methanol decomposition on Pd(111). Using {sup 13}CH{sub 3} 16}OH and 12}CH{sub 18}OH adsorbate molecules, no exchange in thermally desorbing produce 13}C 18}O 12}C 16}O observed. This observation, combined with measurements indicating that H{sub 2}O or CH{sub 4} desorbs, indicates C-O bond scission does not occur any surface species derived adsorbed 3}OH.
