Wireless multimedia sensor networks: A survey

摘要: In recent years, the growing interest in wireless sensor network (WSN) has resulted thousands of peer-reviewed publications. Most this research is concerned with scalar networks that measure physical phenomena, such as temperature, pressure, humidity, or location objects can be conveyed through low-bandwidth and delay-tolerant data streams. Recently, focus shifting toward aimed at revisiting paradigm to enable delivery multimedia content, audio video streams still images, well data. This effort will result distributed, networked systems, referred paper (WMSNs). article discusses state art major challenges architectures, algorithms, protocols for networks. Existing solutions physical, link, network, transport, application layers communication protocol stack are investigated. Finally, fundamental open issues discussed, future trends area outlined.
