Work Related Musculoskeletal Problems among Professionals of Physical Therapy in Hospitals of Lahore, a city of Punjab, Pakistan

摘要: Background: Physiotherapists have to use manual and handling skills while treating their patients. These are often physically demanding put uneven stress on the body. Without proper posture during treatment session, they may prone different musculoskeletal injuries. Objectives: Objective of this study was find out work related disorders in physiotherapists. Methodology: A cross sectional survey conducted 50 physiotherapists from clinical setups Lahore. Structured close ended questionnaire used which had been validated by using Delphi Technique. Data were analyzed SPSS 16.0. Results: Total 36(72%) females 14(28%) males participated study. Most physical therapists 40(80%) for normal working hours, only 6(12%) few overtime or night shifts 4(8%). However, a large proportion professionals got spine found most troubled area 20(40%) other body joints neck 6 (12), knee 5(10%), hip shoulder 4(8%) also involved. Results further revealed that 24(48%) discomfort, 21(42%) discomfort time 5(10%) those who never feel any sort discomfort. Conclusion: It is concluded facing due nature job vulnerable part these sorts problems. Implications need ergonomic training more frequent rest intervals order prevent problems job.
