摘要: In this study we investigate which factors affect the degree of non-native accent L2 speakers English who learned in school and mostly lived for some time an anglophone setting. We use data from Speech Accent Archive containing over 700 speaking almost 160 different native languages. show that besides several important predictors, including age onset length residence, linguistic distance between speaker’s language is a significant predictor pronunciation. This extends earlier (Schepens et al., 2013) only focused on Indo-European learners Dutch used general proficiency measure.
