摘要: During several winters the positions and magnitudes of excess snow deposits or denudation zones caused by wind have been evaluated on flanks regular, elongated mountain ridges. The surveys were carried out conventional measurements mass balance. According to angle slope (10 35°), shape crest (hump- wedge-shaped) orientation wind, various patterns deposition may be found. It is shown that, ridges oriented perpendicularly main direction (north-west) during storms, near-periodic expected lee slope. On windward side, there a zone near crest. indicate that slopes, mean angle, are buried in mid-winter under twice as much adjacent slopes. However, ridge system whole accumulates same amounts do areas flat terrain. Theoretical approximations based theories potential flow semi-empi rical plume models used simulate presumed dispersion snow. model calculations, intended diagnostic tools, suggest diffused deposited slopes plume-like manner similar other particulate matter. Snowfall, together with low-level blowing an additional source suspended particles, appears increase deposits, mainly foot steeper
