Abdominal fat tissue aspirate in amyloidosis of familial Mediterranean fever.

摘要: Abdominal fat tissue aspirates from 20 patients with biopsy-proved amyloidosis were investigated by polarized microscopy after staining Congo-red. Positive results obtained in 4 of 5 primary (AL) and none 15 (AA) Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). We suggest that although this technique is simple, safe effective other forms amyloidosis, it cannot be used as a diagnostic tool FMF suffering amyloidosis.
