摘要: A new method for measuring an impulsive force generated at the impact end in collision and duration of is developed. The measurement based on a simple structure, here called special sensing plate, which produces same effect as strain gages embedded solid. sensing-plate confirmed by calibration tests to be effective not only body but also force. almost entirely free from disturbance caused interference reflected waves. Plastic experiments are performed pure aluminum bars with several different lengths impacting them circular plate. Impact specimens shot out high-pressure air gun. time variation stress specimen colliding plate measured various velocities. strain-rate dependent theory plastic wave propagation applied obtain theoretical prediction those results. predictions have shown agree well observed
