Titanium-modified graphite reinforced Cu-Ni composite by multi-arc ion plating technology

摘要: Abstract Multi-arc ion plating technology is used to change the interface of graphite reinforced metal matrix composite for inaugural time. In this study, Cu-Ni modified by titanium promoting mechanical properties. The titanium-coated prepared multi-arc 30 min at 533 K and titanium-modified manufactured powder metallurgy process. results showed that coating with in-situ dispersed TiC particles has 0.6 μm thickness consists three phases: α-Cu phase, phase. Compared unmodified composite, properties enhance remarkably. Improvement flexural strength raises about 52.8% ± 3.3%, hardness increases 24.9% ± 3.1%, relative density enhances 2.4% ± 0.9%. Further analyses modification mechanism indicate layer transition exist at copper matrix. on surface can efficiently convert through technology.
