Postoperative complications after bimaxillary orthognathic surgery: A retrospective study with focus on postoperative ventilation strategies and posterior airway space (PAS).

摘要: Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact extubation time on postoperative complications in patients undergoing bimaxillary orthognathic surgery. We therefore retrospectively compared effect early extubating (EE) operating room versus delayed (LE) on the intensive care unit (ICU) regarding and length ICU/hospital stay (LOICUS/LOHS). Furthermore, we analyzed influence PAS change complications. Methods clinical data 117 were retrospective using Clavian-Dindo Classification. Volumetric calculations pre- conducted ITK-SNAP software. Fisher's exact test performed significance differences between categorical variables. Continuous variables Mann–Whitney U-Test or Kruskal–Wallis one-way analysis variance. Regression used estimating predictors for Results EE led significant shortening LOICUS (p Conclusion Early after surgery is a safe procedure associated with reduced LOHS. Complications seem occur more frequently marked changes should be considered perioperative risk stratification.
