摘要: Stable isotopes have proven to be a useful tool for deciphering food webs, examining migration patterns and determining nutrient resource allocation. In order increase the descriptive power of isotopes, an increasing number studies are using them model tissue turnover. However, these have, mostly by necessity, been largely limited laboratory experiments demand easier method estimating turnover in field large variety organisms remains. this study, we determined rate blood mice rats stable isotope analysis, compared rates metabolic animals. Rats (Rattus norvegicus) (n=4) (Mus musculus) were switched between isotopically distinct diets, change δ13C δ15N whole was determined. Basal (as CO2 output O2 consumption per unit time, normalized mass) mice. Rats, which magnitude larger had slower mass than (0.02 vs. 0.14 O2/min/g), 13C (t1/2 =24.8 17.3 days, respectively) 15N =27.7 15.4 respectively). A positive correlation isotopic found. These only such data mammals available, but literature birds shows that whole-body scale logarithmically with Interestingly, mammalian graph separately from bird on versus plot. Both rat study exhibited birds. suggest may used estimate when working field, different relationship metabolism exist classes organisms.
