摘要: This study examined the foraging locations of adult male and female Antarctic fur seals (Arctocephalus gazella) in Scotia Sea during postbreeding period. Satellite transmitters were used to track males females obtain information about dive depths. Male migrated away from breeding area period whereas remained close grounds foraged same two consecutive years. The most intensive by was associated with edge continental shelf South Georgia. Males dived deeper than females. Counts at Georgia Orkney Islands support result satellite tracking data showing that move end season. Unlike males, limited their range necessity return feed dependent young, so sites are likely be located areas optimal for Locations feeding avoided either because they suboptimal or causes local depletion food, which have option forage further afield, can more successfully regions where there no Comparison fisheries also suggests these targeting abundant exploitable prey.
