摘要: Abstract Key static mechanical properties and laminating processes of thermoplastic matrix continuous filament composites reinforced with Kevlar® aramid or graphite fibers are presented discussed. A tow Kevlar impregnated a from proprietary melt-coating process involving injection melted polymer can be consolidated into sound, void-free composite laminate by compression molding. The unidirectional 49 the melt-coated tows possess superior to those similar prepared other such as yarn cowinding film laminating. matrices equivalent using Epon® epoxies polyvinylester in flexural, shear compressive strengths. Using J-polymer, polyamide copolymer Du Pont resin candidate model, test data base has been developed for graphite/thermoplastic showing significant advantages damage tolerance, after impact, interlaminar fracture toughness. Although strength graphite/epoxy shown correlate modulus, show no correlation.
