摘要: Hematuria is a documented side effect of botulinum toxin injection and has only been reported when it used for overactive bladder. Here we report rare case hematuria following onabotulinumtoxin A (Botox) upper limb spasticity in 29-year-old male with history traumatic brain injury hemophilia. resolved without further complication after self-injection factor VIII as recommended by his hematologist. Botulinum binds peripheral cholinergic nerve endings to prevent acetylcholine norepinephrine exocytosis. Studies have shown that both these compounds are involved antifibrinolytic activation, suggesting may play role the coagulation cascade preventing formation fibrin. This supported resolution our patient VIII. As such, result mild spontaneous hemorrhage patients underlying hematological deficiencies. Further studies needed elucidate its effects coagulation.
