摘要: Concrete can develop tensile stress when it is restrained from shrinking freely. Standard tests, such as the ring test (ASTM C1581), be used to quantify how likely that a mixture will crack due stresses developed under constant temperature conditions. The standardized passive where residual develops restraint quantified using strains measured on inner steel ring. then compared with concrete’s strength determine mixture’s propensity for cracking. A new dual-ring method has been characterize early-age behavior of mixtures expand and/or undergo change. testing approach uses this remaining capacity (that is, additional applied before concrete through crack). procedure allows conditions rapidly reducing induce To demonstrate approach, plain and three internally cured mortar were tested results these tests are discussed.
