摘要: In contrast to the long time, well-established knowledge about majority of human genome be only ‘junk DNA’, it turned out that a great part is being pervasively transcribed. Among noncoding transcripts, RNAs (lncRNAs) represent most prevalent and functionally heterogeneous group (ncRNAs). Despite few lncRNAs well characterised, their biological meaning, mechanisms function importance for normal development more recognised. Many studies in recent years have shown changes expression are associated with some fundamental processes various disease states, notably cancer. cancer, shows through altered patterns different tumour types as such they potential diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers new targets cancer treatment. Key Concepts lncRNAs important components numerous pathways cellular growth, cell division differentiation. lncRNAs directly or indirectly regulate protein-coding genes on epigenetic, transcriptional post-transcriptional level. Aberrant lncRNA leads dysfunction progression. lncRNAs drivers diseases, cancer. They useful diagnostic indicators patient's prognosis. lncRNAs ideal candidates targeted gene therapy. Keywords: long RNA; regulatory RNAs; tumorigenesis; oncogenic lncRNAs; tumour suppressor lncRNAs; cancer; biomarkers; therapeutical
