摘要: Thrombospondin (TSP) is a large glycoprotein synthesized, secreted and incorporated into the extracellular matrix by various cell types in culture (see Silvenstein et al.,1986 for recent review). TSP synthesis inversely proportional to density (Mumby al.,1984a). Its incorporation age-dependent (Kramer al.,1985) can be regulated specific growth factors (Majack al.,1985), suggesting that involved development. A report shows cell-associated essential smooth muscle proliferation al., 1988). was found promote cell-substrate adhesion of several human sqamous carcinoma lines, but not melanoma or glioma lines (Varani al.,1986). Among tumor tested there direct correlation between ability cells synthesize bind their utilize protein as an factor (Riser al.,1988). It seems, however, such general phenomenon, since endothelial cells, capable both binding, do adhere covered surfaces. Moreover, shown inhibit (Lahav 1987; Lahav,1988). multifunctional interacting with variety macromolecules, among them fibronectin (FN) 1982; Lahav al.,1984), heparin (Lawler al.,1981), collagen al.,1982; Mumby al.,1984b) sulfated glycolipids (Roberts al.,1985).
