摘要: This paper presents the shaking table response of a 12 foot diameter by 6 high ground-supported cylindrical aluminum tank-model. First are presented most significant results; horizontal component El Centro 1940 earthquake with 0.5 g peak acceleration provides load, as reproduced simulator facility Earthquake Engineering Research Center, University California Berkeley, time-scaled required so that test structure represents one-third scale model steel prototype tank. Three different tank base conditions were considered during program; clamped to rigid surface, free uplift from and but supported on flexible surface. Second correlation is between observed behavior predictions made standard design procedures. Finally, more important conclusions reached in this study outlined, including influence order out-of-round components, mechanism or fixity together measured predicted parameters.
