摘要: An electro-optical modulator/antenna operates in the tunable diffraction ting mode to vary magnitude of zero order and consequently transmits optical information. A relatively thin slab lithium niobate or equivalent electro-optic material has its lateral surfaces optically polished C-axis, axis, running parallel surfaces. At least one set interdigital metallic electrodes are deposited on face just within form, among other things, a grating that is orthogonally disposed with respect C-axis. When potential source coupled electrodes, electric fields between adjacent change crystal's index refraction accordance linear transverse Pockel's effect. The crystal having substantially covering at surfaces, thusly presents large aperture capable modulating incident energy over wide angle incidence, for example, up plus minus 45 degrees. Because thinness crystal, transmissivity good losses reduced. cooperation phenomenon effect greatly reduces if not totally eliminates possibility arcing as modulated since potentials creating reduced this operation.
