摘要: Aims: To evaluate the transient effects of orthodontic treatment on mechanical detection threshold (MDT) and pain (MPT) buccal attached gingiva pressure (PPT) teeth in two directions (perpendicular parallel). Methods: A total 20 patients (15 females 5 males) aged 18 to 30 years participated study. Perceived a 0- 10-cm visual analog scale (VAS) MDT, MPT, PPT scores were evaluated at time points masseter muscle, gingiva, teeth, hand (control) prior (T0) 24 hours after first archwire placement (T1). Mean values SEMs calculated for all continuous variables. The differences between T0 T1 analyzed by means paired Student t test. Results: intensity as assessed VAS was 4.2 ± 1.8 cm. No significant changes MDT or MPT found (P > .06). PPTs 21, 23, 24, 34, 34 (perpendicular) 21 23 (parallel) lower (ie, more sensitive) compared with Conclusion: This study indicates that following insertion an causes sensitization blunt-pressure stimuli both periodontal ligament. Quantitative assessment sensitivity may provide insights into procedural allow better monitoring evaluation future.
