摘要: Guidelines recommend the use of bioprosthetics for abdominal wall reinforcement in contaminated fields, but evidence supporting biologic over synthetic non-absorbable prosthetics this indication is poor. Therefore, objective was to perform a systematic review outcomes after and ventral hernia repair or prophylaxis fields. The literature search identified all articles published up 2013 that reported using Studies were included if they at least 10 cases (excluding inguinal parastomal hernias). Quality assessment performed MINORS instrument. main measures incidence wound infection follow-up. Weighted pooled proportions calculated random effects model. A total 32 studies met inclusion criteria synthesis. Mean sample size 41.4 (range 10–190), duration follow-up >1 year 72 % studies. Overall quality low (mean 6.2, range 1–12). Pooled rates 31.6 % (95 % CI 14.5–48.7) with 6.4 % 3.4–9.4) clean-contaminated cases, similar rates. In and/or dirty similar, 27.2 % 9.5–44.9) 3.2 % 0.0–11.0) non-absorbable. Other comparable. available limited, does not support superiority
