Radioimmunoassay of capsular polysaccharide antigens of groups A and C meningococci and Haemophilus influenzae type b in cerebrospinal fluid.

摘要: Sensitive radioimmunoassays capable of measuring 0-5 ng/ml the Haemophilus influenzae type b polysaccharide and 2 groups A C meningococcal polysaccharides were developed used to detect these substances in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Polysaccharide causative agent was detected CSF 14 out 15 patients with meningitis, 18 23 group A, two four meningitis. In some cases antigen could be even after three days antibacterial treatment. No false positive reactions seen. The assay procedure shortened approximately hours. These assays useful routine diagnostic work epidemiological investigations.
