摘要: Objective: Auditory evoked potentials provide the opportunity to better understand central processing of auditory stimuli, which is basis speech and language perception. The purpose this study was examine maturational changes in topography one these potentials, mismatch negativity (MMN), using scalp current density (SCD) analysis. Design: Subjects were children ages 4 11 yr (N = 53), adults 12). Stimuli 85 dB peSPL 1000 Hz standard tones 1200 deviant (deviant probability 0.15). recorded surface electrodes placed at 32 locations on head while subjects ignored stimuli by watching a silent video. Results: Significant MMN seen over frontal left lateral sites. Conclusions: Differences for compared indicate that generators or their orientation, thus neural processes underlying discrimination simple tones, are not yet mature age.
