摘要: Abstract The organisation of a recently used stone axe factory in the Papua New Guinea highlands is examined with respect to concept chiefdoms and emergence centralised societies archaeological record. case Tungei illustrates fact that acephalous tribal can mobilise large workforce for co‐operative, economic ventures. It shown well‐suited ideology helped great deal prevent quarrying effort from becoming fragmented leadership involved direction rather than command.
