摘要: This thesis focuses on the exploitation of fibre Bragg gratings in optical communication networks. New designs, as well procedures for dynamically altering grating characteristics are proposed several important functions. We begin with designing flattening gain profile an erbium-doped amplifier. The design process uses alternative method to inverse scattering method, but produces a similar spectral response quality. These have either modulated refractive index or chirp rate. Then, we propose reconfigurable phase-code encoder. device is composed uniform grating, number equidistant fine wires purpose modulating phase via thermo-optic effect. Next, construct simple package continuous tuning gratings, which adopts beam bending technique. It demonstrates over 110 nm range and operational wavelength can be accurately predicted. Its limitations studied. has been incorporated into systems, include tunable distributed feedback laser, add-drop multiplexer high power laser. Finally, present varying dispersion grating. deforms cubic function shape contra-flexure point at middle.
