Marijuana Abusers Are at Increased Risk for Stroke

摘要: : We have recorded blood flow velocity in the anterior and middle cerebral arteries by transcranial Doppler sonography abstinent marijuana abusers (n= 16) control subjects 19) to assess effects of prolonged use cerebrovascular system. The pulsatility index, a measure resistance, systolic were significantly (p < 0.005) increased compared subjects. These findings suggest that perfusion observed 18–30 year old is comparable normal 60 year-olds. Thus, chronic abuse might be risk factor for stroke.
