Paleoenvironment characteristics and hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Miocene bituminous shales in Sivas Basin (Central Anatolia, Turkey)

摘要: This study is based around Karayun which in the Sivas Tertiary Basin, one of important sedimentary basins Turkey. The units observed area and nearby are Oligocene Hafik, Lower Miocene Lower-Middle Karacaoren Formations Quaternary alluvium. focused on samples from Formation due to presence alternations bituminous shale levels formation. studied shales characterized by relatively high total organic carbon values up 10.44 % S2 ranging 0.01 89.02 HC/g rock, indicating fair excellent source rock. Most at immature early mature stage for hydrocarbon generation. Generally, genetic potential over 2 mg hydrogen index value between 9 887 (TOC) (on average 333.62 TOC). Oxygen vary 17 557 CO2/g TOC 135.35 On basis Rock-Eval pyrolysis analysis, kerogens type I/II II/III mixed. Dominant matter this formation algal amorphous matter. Thermal alteration (TAI), Spore colour (SCI), vitrinite reflectance (Ro) Tmax evaluations indicate that maturity unit diagenesis zone, beginning hydrocarbon-producing stage. As a result series analyses, it was found has facies B, BC C limited generation basin.
