摘要: The close relation between time and causality is undisputed, but there a paucity of research on how people use temporal information to inform their causal judgments. Experiment 1 examined the effect delay variability judgments, whether participants were sensitive presence hastener cue that reduced cause without changing contingency. results showed higher ratings given cause- pairs with less variable delays, conditions an active actually participants' cues. latter finding can also be explained in terms people's sensitivity variability, because unde- tected leads greater experienced delays. 2 followed up previous showing give cause-effect shorter We this might due probability intervening events rather than length per se. supported former conjecture: influenced by interval not mere delay. findings from both experiments raise questions for current theories learning.
