Summary The composition, density, biomass and diversity of soil-macrofauna communities were assessed in eight land-use categories the Mabira Forest Reserve, towards end rainy season. Some soil characteristics also measured, seven sites. Sixteen orders recorded The cleared uncultivated site had highest density (1247 m-2) (9 per sample), whilst lowest occurred one-year cultivation (200 m -2) twenty-year (5 1 sample) respectively. Natural forest (9-8 g four-year (31 m-2). Following continuous for a year, faunal tended to fall along with organic matter, total nitrogen, available phosphorus exchangeable potassium soils. In general, clearance have deleterious effects on soils macrofauna its chemical physical properties.
