摘要: Akabane and bovine ephemeral fever viruses are exotic to the American continent. Both spread by insect vectors, each causes disease of varying severity in food-producing animals. However, there few other similarities between agents diseases that they cause. They do not share same mammalian host range is different, clinical manifestations virus infection vary markedly. a cause severe congenital defects, but adult animals show no signs infection. In contrast, febrile illness affecting mainly mature If introduced North America, it probable would be significant economic losses, at least until endemic transmission patterns were established. Subsequently, likely alternate outbreaks followed interepidemic periods which minor effect.
