摘要: A portable device for measuring sediment resuspension has been developed. The consists of a cylindrical chamber inside which horizontal grid oscillates vertically. sediments whose properties are to be determined placed at the bottom with water overlying them. in and creates turbulence penetrates down sediment-water interface causes resuspension. amount material resuspended is proportional frequency oscillation. calibrated by comparing concentrations different frequencies an annular flume where shear stress known. can used laboratory rapid reasonably accurate measurements also tested on board ship field surveys undisturbed sediments.
