摘要: The incidence of older patients with end stage renal disease is on the increase. This group have multiple comorbidities and a high symptom burden. Dialysis can be life sustaining for such patients. But it often at expense quality life, which starts to decline early in pathway chronic kidney disease. Quality also important major determinant decisions regarding replacement. As result, validated patient-reported outcome measures are increasingly used assess Cognitive impairment, depression, malnutrition function non-renal determinants mortality. They under-recognised population but potentially treatable, if not preventable. review article discusses aetio-pathogenesis, prevalence impact these four outcomes, advocating regular screening identification management.
