Lenses, cloaks and Transformation Optics (TO) —Myths, mysteries and practical realities

摘要: Perhaps no other “new” topic has elicited so much interest in Electromagnetics recent years as Transformation Optics (TO). This is apparent from the flood of publications both Engineering and Physics journals devoted to topics related Optics, Antennas. In this talk we begin by reviewing fundamentals TO, but interpreting transformation algorithm layman's terms that anyone without an in-depth background subject area can readily grasp. We then introduce alternative paradigm, called FT algorithm, design blankets for scatterers, well flat lenses replace hyperbolic spherical conventional type. Performance comparisons TO- FT-based designs will also be presented.
