摘要: Objective: Because of the widespread use antiphospholipid antibody testing in evaluation patients with recurrent pregnancy loss, we evaluated consistency results among laboratories for anticardiolipin and lupus anticoagulant. Study Design: A questionnaire regarding methods used samples blood from 20 were sent to five university-based commercial facilities testing. Results: The responses participating questionnaires revealed significant differences methods, standardization, units reporting. For antibody, number specimens found be positive any isotype (immunoglobulin G, M, or A) varied considerably laboratories, a range 5 13. All agreement (i.e., at least one was present all absent) only (25%). In contrast, anticoagulant more reproducible, although facility reported markedly discordant other four laboratories. Conclusion: These observations suggest that interlaboratory variation exists particularly might lead unnecessary therapeutic interventions.
