PROTEIN QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF COMPUTER OPTIMIZED WEANING FORMULAS

摘要: Three optimized weaning foods containing 23-39% wheat flour, 19-35% cowpea 15-22% sesame flour or seeds, 5-15% nonfat dry milk (NFDM), 0-7.9% cottonseed oil, and 5% sucrose were developed for application in Egypt using Brill Feed Formulation software. Blends of all components except NFDM processed an InstaPro Model 600 extruder at 140C residence time approximately 30 s. Essential amino acid content formulas exceeded the specified minimum requirements 6-month child. PER values ranged from 2.18 to 2.57, relative NPRs 87-101% that casein true digestibilities 86-89%. Trypsin inhibitor activity was reduced by 82-100% extrusion.
